Honouring a Legacy of Passion, Leadership, Stewardship and Innovation in Snowmobiling

Our hope is that, over time, the Carl Kuster Legacy Award becomes more than an award.

We hope it becomes another way of preserving the history of snowmobiling—recognizing the pioneers, innovators, volunteers, industry leaders, manufacturers and their employees, and all those whose passion and commitment have moved our sport forward.

Most importantly, we want to make sure we tell their stories while we still can.

Recipients Categories:

  1. Innovation & Industry Leadership
    Manufacturers, engineers, designers, aftermarket companies, inventors, dealers, and others who advanced snowmobile technology, products, equipment, or the industry itself.
  2. Media, Storytelling & Promotion
    Photographers, filmmakers, journalists, publishers, broadcasters, content creators, personalities, and others who helped tell the story of snowmobiling and grow its culture.
  3. Community, Stewardship & Advocacy
    Club members, administrators, volunteers, trail builders, groomer operators, land-access advocates, association leaders, and others whose behind-the-scenes contributions helped sustain the sport.
  4. Athletes, Competitors & Pioneers
    Racers, freestyle athletes, mountain riders, explorers, ambassadors, and other individuals whose accomplishments, riding ability, or pioneering efforts elevated snowmobiling.

Criteria:

  1. A life long commitment to time, knowledge, mentorship, and leadership
  2. Visionary efforts that have grown and elevated the sport of snowmobiling
  3. Exceptional stewardship of riding areas, trail systems and sustainable access
  4. Distinguished service and leadership within clubs, associations and the snowmobiling community
  5. Passionate advocacy for responsible riding, safety, collaboration, and the future of mountain snowmobiling
